47 Beavers
Our History

Our Goals
47 Beavers is a team who is dedicated to spreading awareness of the STEM field in our community. We want to create more inclusive opportunities, for all students from elementary to high school levels. As a team, we collaborate with other robotics teams, Montgomery County schools, and local businesses to enable accessibility and participation in the various areas in STEM.
Check out our Outreach Page for more details on our projects!
Our Name
Our team name was inspired by a book written by Phil Vischer, 47 Beavers on the Big, Blue Sea. The book focuses on teamwork and collaboration, which are also the core values of our team. We want to utilize everyone’s strengths in order to create the best robotic results and to promote an extraordinary learning environment.

Our Background
We are FIRST Tech Challenge Team 13100, the 47 Beavers. Our team was founded during the 2017-2018 season, in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our team consists of students from different schools in Montgomery County, such as Poolesville and Winston Churchill.
Our Accomplishments
Our team has reached incredible feats throughout our active years. We are most proud of members' valuable personal growth. In competitions, our team has also won multiple award titles every competition season.
Winning Inspire
At the Richmond FTC Qualifier for the Chesapeake Bay Area, our team was stunned to win the Inspire Award. We had worked for months to help people from everywhere learn about FIRST and STEM, whether it be from local schools, to Damascus, Syria. We felt we had the credentials and support of FIRST to win Inspire, but it was still a shock to receive such a prestigious award.
Many thanks to our sponsors and collaborators for supporting us through this journey to foster interest in robotics and STEM throughout our world!
